December to Remember
This month was not a kind month for the Battalion. I have not looked at the stats to state that we had worse months during the war. BUT, looking at the years 66-71, December put a hurt on the Battalion.
We suffered 29 loses: Co's A (8) B (5) C (11) D (3) E (1) HHC (1). For my company, Charlie, all 11 loses occurred in the same year, 1968. So for me December is always a month in which my thoughts turn to those guys I knew, I guess in part because it's also Christmas. I hope where ever they are at, that they know someone, and I'm sure there are others from the Company, that we are still thinking of them.......Sarge

Flash - February 5, 2014
The 2/12th Infantry from Ft Carson began to deploy to Kandahar Province in Afghanistan this week. The length of their tour is unknown, but is believed to be in a non-combat role with it's mission to support the further withdrawal of U.S. involvement there. The objective of the U.S. is to have all personnel out of that country by the end of the year providing the agreement between Karzai and the State Department goes unsigned. The agreement calls for some military presence to continue to provide training and support to the Afghan National Police forces. Karzai is suspected of negotiating with the Taliban this past week behind our backs to further his own interests. That clown should be removed from office.

Site Problems 12/16/2013
I noticed I could not access the menu page today. Don't know how long that was going on. Finally got fed up with using the "WebRing - Military" to drive traffic to our website. Somehow, it was sending everyone to it's website. So, I blew the sucker away today. Don't need it. Maybe that will also stop the unwanted "pop up" ads that would appear when you traveled around the site. Sorry for the mess. We will see...................Sarge

Veteran's Day
Today
is Veteran's Day. The day we acknowledge all those who served in the
Military in good times and in bad. For me, it's a day to say "well done"
to those who stood by my side and fought with me. It is also a time for
me to reflect on all those men (boys) who gave so much and did not
return home, a moment of silence and a prayer. Thank you to all who have
taken the time to recognize and thank a fellow veteran............

Story Blog and Website Info - 11/1/2013
We have been getting some garbage postings in the Story Blog that affects registered users. I have been blacking listing these entries. However, once your listing gets out into the universe, it makes it available to others. I have decided to limit "comments" to only registered users. I don't like doing this because I believe for some, they will not want to go through the trouble of doing that. I hope that if you fall into that category, that you will register and continue to be a contributor or commentator.
If you haven't noticed, I am trying to have the website reflect the "Battalion's" image and not just Charlie Co. so you will see on the splash page and the header on this menu page showing "Charlie Co & 2/12th Infantry"
