2-12th Change of Command Ceremony
April 9, 2025
Prior to the change of command, we were contacted by COL Hugh Jones who informed us in March that the ceremony may be held away from Ft Carson, but he was not at liberty to tell us where. He suggested we wait to make travel arrangements until he knew more. About two weeks before the date set for the change of command, which was April 9th, we were told that the change would be held at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. We also learned that the brigade was being sent there to perform border security and that we would learn more when we arrived. - Sarge

Passing the regimental colors

It is an honor to be here today representing the Warriors of the past who served in the Vietnam War. May I introduce presenters COL Ed Northrop, former C Co C.O. 1-12th, his RTO, SGT Dennis Witt.
LTC STELLFOX-- This gift represents the Warrior in each of us and we hope it is a positive reflection of you and your family's sacrifices to our Great Nation and to the Soldiers of the Lethal Warrior Bn. To whom you faithfully served these past 2 years.
The 2-12th Infantry Regiment has a long and proud history. In Vietnam we were known as the White Warriors. The legacy of the Warrior Vietnam Veteran lies in our sacrifices and in never forgetting the 329 officers and men we lost in our 4 1/2 years in Vietnam. We hold high their memories; they were our friends and Brothers. When all is said and done, The War in Vietnam was about many factors, some very conflicting and political, but to us “Warriors” it was simply about Duty, Honor and Responsibility to Each Other and our Country. It was never about heroism.
Those who fought in Vietnam, 2/3rds volunteered, and 1/3rd were drafted, but each served and became forever a "Band of Warrior Brothers, bonded by war."
This Tomahawk is engraved with our motto: "Having Been Led By Love of Country". Dates and from Whom are on the back of the Tomahawk. It is adorned with a Prayer Feather and a Dream Catcher, which symbolizes: High Honor, Trust, Strength, Wisdom, Freedom and a Spiritual Connection to the Heavens.
LTC STELLFOX -- On behalf of all Vietnam Lethal Warrior Veterans, please accept this Tomahawk. May it provide you with a lasting memory of your time with the 12th Infantry Regiment. May God continue to Bless you, your family and ALL Warriors throughout our Regiments Proud history.
