What's happening at Ft Carson with the "Lethal Warriors"
LTC Travis Stellfox, like his predecessors, has a keen interest in maintaining and sharing the history and lineage of the unit with the current soldiers who serve with the Warriors. Part of this effort, is to remain in contact with former veterans as well, and LTC Stellfox along with many other officers I have met and talked to. They want to establish and keep an open door policy which is extended to all veterans, especially Vietnam Veterans. You are welcome anytime to visit the Post and the unit.

LTC Kirby Dennis - March 14, 2018
Hello Lethal Warrior Teammates and Family Members -
Greetings from Afghanistan! Lethal 7 and I wanted to send a quick update on our progress with this important mission, and keep you abreast of some of the major accomplishments for Task Force Lethal thus far...
- Today 2-12 assumed responsibility for the Theater Reserve Force mission. Many thanks to our great partners from 2-501 PIR from Fort Bragg, NC - as they helped us assume the responsibilities for this critical mission
- Today the entre Task Force executed patching ceremonies, in which each company placed the 4th ID combat patch on the right sleeve of our Soldiers. Given the incredible history of the Ivy Division, our Soldiers are honored and proud to wear this patch for the duration of our mission and beyond
- The task force has been busy preparing for a variety of missions, and we led the way for the BCT by executing the first fly-away mission with Dagger Company. Lethal 7 and I could not be more proud of the effort put forth thus far by our leaders and Soldiers. From my perspective, this has been the busiest and most productive Relief in Place that I have experienced in my career, and our Soldiers have worked incredibly hard to get 2-12 IN to this point
- As the Theater Reserve Force, 2-12 will be the face of the BCT to many entities. Of note, Task Force Lethal will regularly interact with Resolute Support as well as the Headquarters of United States Forces - Afghanistan (USFOR-A). Our diverse mission will demand that we operate with a wide variety of organizations - and I know that the Lethal Warrior team will make the BCT proud
Moving forward, Lethal 7 and I will provide regular updates on the battalion and our mission. In an effort to keep our loved ones informed, I would like to expand the monthly battalion update to as many family members, friends and loved ones as possible (grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, etc.). I would ask for your help in this effort. While it will initially be difficult to obtain contact information for some of these individuals, I know that they will want to get this update. If you can assist in any way to get email addresses for your respective Lethal Families, I would be grateful.
Please send this information to LT Kevin Roake.
On behalf of a grateful battalion, I want to say thank you for all you do on behalf of the Lethal Warriors. Your efforts and stalwart support make us strong, and will aid us in the execution of our mission in the months to come.
Vr,
Lethal 6

Message from LTC Thomas Carroll - 4/22/2021
Lethal Warrior Veterans, Families, and Friends,
Good afternoon. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, and let you know what this great Battalion is up to. I have been married for over 12 years to my wife Christy. We have two children, Collin (9), and Catrina (8). They have been the biggest supporters of this profession that I chose, and to share Battalion Command with them is simply an unbelievable experience.
I am beyond honored and humbled to Command such a historic, and storied Battalion, and certainly want you all to continue being a part of it. We have quite a bit going on at the moment. We have completed our transition from an Infantry Brigade Combat Team to a Stryker Brigade Combat Team, and are in the process of building our Lethality, as we begin our collective training towards a National Training Center rotation later this year.
CSM Joe Gaskin and I emphasize a few basic qualities that we expect of our Soldiers. First, we have embraced and are committed to the People First Culture. Not just taking care of our Soldiers and their Families, but to be a cohesive unit that is trained, disciplined, and fit. Second, to get better every day, no matter big or small, always be making improvements to our foxholes. Finally, to be an inclusive and learning organization. Soldiers of all ranks, gender, and creed are vital members of this team, and play a critical role in ensuring that when our Nation calls, we are Ready to execute any and all missions, and WIN!
Thank you, to you and your Family, for your service and sacrifice to this great Nation, and the 12th Infantry Regiment. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. We look forward to seeing you again, soon.
Respectfully,
Tom Carroll

Lethal Warrior Veterans, Families, and Friends,
I certainly hope all remains well with all of you, and your Families. It’s been another busy summer for the Lethal Battalion. As we sit here now, we preparing to once again begin Platoon collective training, this time with a JRTC rotation on the horizon in January. As usual, we have had quite a bit of personnel turnover, including bidding farewell to CSM Gaskin, who assumed responsibility for a Brigade in Alaska. We welcomed CSM Willie Woods, who has served previously in the Lethal Battalion. On top of that, our Soldiers are looking forward to getting back to training as well. Our message has remained simple, that our mindset must be that we are going into combat in Louisiana, against a near peer opponent. While we must remain safe during our upcoming training, as well as our JRTC rotation, but we will remain aggressive, with our endstate of coming home a more cohesive, better trained, disciplined, and fit organization than we deployed with.
We have spent most of the past few months executing individual level training, with this years EIB, ESB, and EFMB. Our Soldiers performed remarkably, earning over 65 individual badges during the training and testing. The unit continues to grow leaps and bounds, but more importantly, we’ve gained confidence in ourselves and our equipment. We’ve learned how to fight as a Stryker organization, and how to incorporate the mounted machine gun platforms into the fight. Our starting point this year is much further ahead than it was last year, as we prepared to the NTC. JRTC will only continue that progress, and enable us to continue to improve as an organization, so that we are truly ready to deploy and win, should our Nation call on us.
Thank you, to you and your Family, for your continued service and sacrifice to our great Nation, and the 12th Infantry Regiment. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. We look forward to seeing you again, soon.

Farewell Message from LTC Thomas Carroll - 3/24/2023
Lethal Warrior Veterans, Families, and Friends,
I certainly hope all remains well with all of you, and your Families. It’s been another busy period for the Lethal Battalion. We culminated our busy fall with yet another successful Combat Training Center rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center in January and February this year. While we just returned home, we are already busy executing recovery operations, while simultaneously beginning preparations to deploy later this year to Korea. The past two years have been incredibly fast paced, to say the least, and we have a lot to do between now and our deployment to ensure our Soldiers and Families are ready, with our endstate of coming home a more cohesive, better trained, disciplined, and fit organization than we will deploy with.
I also wanted to take a moment to let you know that I will change command of this great Battalion on March 24th. I will be replaced by LTC Travis Stellfox, who has a tremendous reputation, and is the right leader, at the right time, to assume command of the Lethal Battalion. CSM Woods will remain as the Command Sergeant Major throughout the upcoming deployment. My family and I are excited for what’s next, as we will depart Fort Carson this spring for Fort Irwin, where I will serve as the Light Infantry Task Force Senior Trainer at the National Training Center. It has been the honor of my professional life to have led this Battalion the past 25 months, to get to know you Veterans who helped to shape this Battalion, and our Army as a whole. Although I have served in many different Regiments during my career, I will always consider myself 12th Infantry above all else, and I can’t thank you enough for your friendship during my tenure. I can assure you, these Soldiers are prepared for any future mission, to fight and win, if our Nation requires us to do so.
Thank you, to you and your Family, for your continued service, sacrifice, and support to our great Nation, and the 12th Infantry Regiment. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. We look forward to seeing you again, soon.
