This was  my first invitation to attend a CSM change of command. It was held in the motor pool. It was a bit cramped in there. There was only room for one platoon of soldiers along with the officers. I remember CSM Scott asking those men in attendance, how many had been deployed overseas and only a few hands went up. It just goes to show you how much turnover was in the army in a few short years. CSM Scott, when the unit was doing ROTC training at FT Knox, drove down with a few other NCO's to visit the C Co reunion that was being held in Gatlinburg, TN. It was a welcome visit by the Vietnam veterans. I enjoyed getting to know CSM Scott
Having met Col Staeheli at the beginning of the year, it was nice to see him again. After the CoC for CSM Scott, Col Staeheli ask us veterans (Craig Schoonderwoerd) if we would like to get a briefing from his S1 and S2 officers on their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. It was very interesting to hear about their mission and expectations for their six month deployment.
